There is something truly special about the hours before a wedding ceremony. The excitement, the anticipation, the quiet moments in between — everything feels a little more meaningful. For couples celebrating their wedding at Lake Como, these moments often unfold in the beautiful surroundings of an Italian villa, where timeless architecture, soft natural light and views of the lake create an unforgettable atmosphere.
As a wedding photographer in Italy, I love documenting these preparations in a natural and unobtrusive way. For me, getting ready photography is not simply about capturing the dress, the shoes or the final details. It is about telling the story of how the day begins, preserving the emotions and the little moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
The morning of a wedding at Lake Como often has its own gentle rhythm. Inside an elegant Italian villa, the bride gets ready surrounded by beautiful details, soft light and the anticipation of the day ahead.
A wedding dress waiting to be worn, a veil carefully placed nearby, a final glance in the mirror — these are the details that become part of the larger story. I love photographing them as they naturally happen, without interrupting the atmosphere or turning the preparations into something staged.
One of my favourite moments is when the bride is almost ready and sits on the bed, her veil falling softly around her. In front of her, a mirror reflects the room and offers a glimpse of the groom, who is finishing his own preparations nearby.
It is a quiet scene, yet full of meaning. She can see him getting ready, and for a brief moment, the anticipation of the wedding day becomes something they share, even before they meet for the ceremony.

Not every meaningful wedding moment happens during a traditional first look. Sometimes, it is the smallest interaction that tells the most beautiful story.
As the bride sits with her veil in place, she catches sight of her almost-ready groom in the mirror. There is no grand entrance and no need for a carefully planned pose. Just the two of them, sharing the same space and the same anticipation.
These moments are especially meaningful to photograph because they reveal the relationship beyond the wedding-day traditions. A glance, a smile or the simple awareness of being close to one another can say more than a perfectly arranged photograph.
For me, this is the essence of authentic wedding photography: observing what happens naturally and preserving it with sensitivity.

Wedding preparations are often filled with activity, but they also offer moments of calm and connection. Before the ceremony begins and the celebrations unfold, there is still time to pause and enjoy being together.
Photographs of these moments become an important part of your wedding story. Years later, they can bring you back to the feeling of that morning — the anticipation, the intimacy and the quiet excitement of knowing that you are about to marry the person you love.
I believe that beautiful wedding photographs do not always need elaborate poses or dramatic gestures. Sometimes, the most powerful images are the ones that feel honest and effortless.
A bride sitting on a bed in her veil. Her groom appearing in the mirror. A familiar smile shared across the room. These small details make your wedding story personal and uniquely yours.
Lake Como is one of Italy’s most romantic wedding destinations, known for its historic villas, beautiful gardens and breathtaking lakeside scenery. But beyond the spectacular views and elegant settings, it is the personal moments that make each wedding unforgettable.
An Italian villa provides a beautiful backdrop for getting ready photographs, allowing the story to unfold through natural light, architectural details and genuine emotion. Whether you are planning a luxury destination wedding, an intimate celebration or a romantic villa wedding on Lake Como, these preparations deserve to be remembered just as much as the ceremony itself.
My approach is to photograph your wedding day as it unfolds, with an eye for the details and an appreciation for the moments in between. I want you to look at your photographs and recognise not only how everything looked, but also how it felt.
Because your wedding story begins long before you walk down the aisle.
If you are planning a destination wedding at Lake Como or elsewhere in Italy, I would love to hear about your plans. From the quiet moments during your preparations to the emotions of your ceremony and the celebrations that follow, my aim is to create natural, timeless photographs that reflect your connection and the atmosphere of your day.
